Baseboard Building: Fairly standard. 2” x 1” framework using half joints which are all glued and screwed for strength. I did not want to damage the floor – which was quite expensive - and where possible I wanted limited drilling into the walls so the entire framework is effectively free standing with minimal connections to the walls (see photos 2 & 4). Note the pre-drilled cable run holes. I cannot stress enough how important and useful such holes are. Even so I still forgot some as I unintentionally created some voids ( see photo 3). Also on photo 3 you can see where the circular track will go but I had to create an access hole as eventually I plan to place the country terminus baseboard over this area. In photo six you can see the first Sundella board being laid and the provisional circle of track. Note lights which are all LEDs controlled via a LED dimmer.
